Management and Administration Officer

Management and Administration functions at the United Nations support the effective planning, coordination, and delivery of organizational and operational activities across UN offices and missions. These roles involve providing administrative, financial, human resources, and logistical support to ensure the efficient implementation of UN mandates. Personnel in this field contribute to policy compliance, resource management, reporting, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders, while upholding UN rules, regulations, and core values in a diverse and multicultural working environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and operational support to ensure the effective implementation of UN programmes and activities.
  • Coordinate office management functions, including documentation, correspondence, scheduling, and records management.
  • Support human resources processes such as recruitment coordination, onboarding, attendance tracking, and staff administration.
  • Assist in financial and budgetary activities, including monitoring expenditures, preparing reports, and supporting procurement processes.
  • Ensure compliance with UN rules, regulations, policies, and established administrative procedures.
  • Prepare reports, briefing notes, and official correspondence for management and senior leadership.
  • Liaise with internal departments, UN agencies, government counterparts, and external partners as required.
  • Support logistics and asset management, including inventory control and office supplies.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of administrative systems and workflows.
  • Perform other related duties as required by supervisors.

Minimum Necessary Qualifications

Education

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, Public Administration, Human Resources, Finance, or a related field.
    (A relevant diploma combined with additional years of experience may be accepted for some positions.)

Work Experience

  • 2 years of progressively responsible experience in administration, management support, or related fields.
  • Experience working in an international organization, Government, UN agency, NGO, Private or public sector is desirable.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of administrative, financial, and HR procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and diverse environment.

Languages

  • Fluency in English (oral and written) is required.
  • Knowledge of another UN official language (French, Arabic, Spanish, Russian, or Chinese) is an asset.

Salary 89,000$ – 98,000$
