Flight Attendance (Cabin Crew)

The United Nations is seeking a Flight Attendant to ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of passengers aboard UN-operated flights. The role involves delivering high-quality in-flight service, assisting passengers during boarding and emergencies, enforcing aviation safety procedures, and supporting flight crew operations. The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, strong communication skills, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to work under international aviation and UN safety standards.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety, security, and comfort of passengers on board UN-operated aircraft in accordance with international aviation regulations and UN aviation standards.
  • Conduct pre-flight safety checks of the cabin, emergency equipment, and supplies.
  • Deliver safety briefings and ensure passenger compliance with safety procedures throughout the flight.
  • Assist passengers during boarding, seating, and disembarkation, including those with special needs or VIP status.
  • Provide professional in-flight service, including meal and beverage service where applicable.
  • Respond effectively to in-flight emergencies, medical situations, and evacuation procedures when required.
  • Maintain cabin cleanliness, order, and readiness at all times.
  • Coordinate closely with pilots and other crew members to ensure smooth flight operations.
  • Uphold UN values, professionalism, confidentiality, and cultural sensitivity at all times.
  • Complete post-flight reports and perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Necessary Qualifications

Education

  • Completion of secondary education (high school diploma) is required.
  • Formal cabin crew or aviation safety training is an advantage.

Work Experience

  • A minimum of 1- 2 years of experience as a flight attendant, cabin crew member, or in a related aviation or customer service role.
  • Experience in international, humanitarian, or VIP flight operations is desirable. (Optional)

Licenses & Certifications

  • Valid Cabin Crew Attestation or equivalent aviation certification, where applicable(Optional)
  • Current first aid and emergency response training is required or must be obtained upon employment.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of aviation safety and emergency procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
  • High level of personal grooming and professional appearance.
  • Ability to work irregular hours, including weekends, holidays, and on short notice.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills in a multicultural environment.

Languages

  • Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required.
  • Knowledge of another UN official language (French, Arabic, Spanish, Russian, or Chinese) is an asset.

Medical & Physical Requirements

  • Must meet medical and physical fitness standards required for cabin crew duties, including vision, hearing, and mobility requirements.

Salary: 90,000$ – 120,000$
