Roles and Responsibilities
- Provide immediate first aid and basic life support to UN personnel, visitors, and beneficiaries in case of injury, illness, or medical emergencies.
- Assess emergency situations promptly and take appropriate action in accordance with established first aid protocols and UN safety procedures.
- Stabilize patients and arrange for referral or evacuation to medical facilities when required.
- Maintain first aid stations, kits, and medical supplies, ensuring they are adequately stocked and properly maintained.
- Keep accurate records of all first aid treatments, incidents, and follow-up actions in line with UN reporting requirements.
- Support health, safety, and emergency preparedness activities, including drills and awareness sessions.
- Collaborate with medical staff, security personnel, and emergency response teams during incidents.
- Ensure compliance with UN health, safety, and occupational standards at all times.
- Provide health and safety guidance to staff on basic first aid and injury prevention where appropriate.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in handling medical and personal information.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors.
Minimum Necessary Qualifications
Education
- Completion of secondary education (high school diploma) is required.
Certification.
- Certification in CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) is recommended (Optional).
- Advanced first aid or emergency medical training is an advantage.
Work Experience
- A minimum of 1–3 years of relevant experience in first aid, emergency response, healthcare support, or a similar role.
- Experience in field missions, humanitarian operations, or high-risk environments is desirable.

- Ability to remain calm and act decisively under pressure.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong sense of responsibility, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- High level of professionalism and respect for confidentiality.
Languages
- Basic knowledge of English is required.
- Knowledge of another UN official language is an asset.
Medical & Physical Requirements
- Must be medically and physically fit to perform first aid duties, including lifting, mobility, and extended periods of standing or response.
